- February: Majority disbanded, one company of 80 sent to The General of Artillery’s Regiment of Foot while a new regiment is raised for Colonel Stewart including men returning from England. These units subsequently form part of the Scots New Model Army though Stewart declines and is replaced by Leslie.

Coats, Flags & Equipment
The regiment was likely dressed in ubiquitous Scots hodden grey with blue bonnets. A colour belonging to Stewart's regiment survives and is at the National Museum of Scotland. It is blue with a white saltire and five red roses at the centre. The inscription reads COVENANTS, FOR RELIGION, KING, AND KINGDOMES. 1)
