Notes
The regiment’s colonel in 1642 was Lord Paulett, a noted Royalist but the Trained Band failed to support Paulett, instead following the Parliamentarian John Pyne, previously Lieutenant Colonel. At Marshall’s Elm in Somerset they were routed by the Royalists under Lunsford, John Digby, Lord Hawley and Edward Stawell.
