William Carlis
William Carlis variously Careless or Carlos, served as a captain in Colonel Thomas Leveson’s Regiment of Horse in the First Civil War. He led a regiment of horse to the Battle of Worcester in 1651 and aided Charles Stuart's escape. By 1656 he was a captain in The King’s Own Regiment of Guards in Flanders.
