Notes
In February 1644 Sir William Vaughan led 4 troops of Lord Lisle’s Regiment of Horse back from Ireland to reinforce Lord Byron's army in Cheshire. These were his own troop and those of Davalier, Croft and Borner. Originally they were to contribute to a regiment for Sir Thomas Lucas1).
