Sheweth that about 4 yeares since when ye Marquess of Hartford came first into ye County in a hostile manner, your petitioner was then over rules by some of that party to take up armes for ye King and had then delivered unto him a Commission for a Captaine of a troope of horse which hee did execute for the space of one whole yeare and noe longer, and that about 3 yeares since your petitioner did ley downe his said Commission,and submitt himselfe unto ye Committee of Parliament for ye said County…

5. That in the yeare 1645 hee sett forth another horse man and armes against the Parliament in the Troope of Captaine Watkins under Sir Francis Doddington and gave the rider five shillings.
