Notes
Bagot's regiment formed the Royalist garrison of Lichfield from 1644 and soon gained a reputation as prolific skirmishers and plunderers. Although serving at a number of major battles, they appear to have maintained part of the regiment in garrison at Lichfield throughout.
Coats and Flags
Coat colour unknown. They carried blue flags with gold star devices in May 16452), noted by Symonds as Bagott's foot colors: Azure, a mullet or, on a canton a cross the flags are occasionally erroneously shown as purple in some publications.

Colonel Richard Bagot
Governor of Lichfield, he led the regiment at Naseby but was seriously wounded. He retreated to Lichfield where he died a month later of his wounds. He is buried in Lichfield Cathedral where his memorial can be seen in the south aisle of the choir.Bagot family ODNB.
