Notes
Troopes of dragoones sent out of England :— Captains : Duckenfield, 100 ; Moyle, 100 ; Paite, 180.4). Leicester's order to pay Moyles to levy his troop refers to him as Lt-Col5). That to Duckenfield refers to him as a Major 6), which may indicate some regimental structure for the dragoons was originally intended.
At some point in 1642 Lt Col Moyle was based at Drogheda and in Connaught while Duckenfield and Pate were in Trim.
In December 1643 the three troops were shipped to Cheshire, joining Lord Byron's army. Presumably they were destroyed or captured at Nantwich. Pate's troop served in England under its Lieutenant as Pate remained in Ireland.
