- February: Scott commissioned colonel for 400 horse to be raised in Teviotdale and Selkirk
- June: Scott's troop quartered at Nithsdale
- June to August: Lt Col William Ker of Newton sent to collect the Engager weaponry left at Berwick and Carlisle

- June: Ordered to Selkirk (Scott & Ker) and Lauderdale (Capt Scott)
- September: Battle of Dunbar
- October: Ordered to Stirling
- November: Quartered at Alyth
- December: Col Scott dies and the regiment is given to the Earl of Linlithgow
