Notes
Coats, Flags and Equipment
The regiment’s flags in 1648 were red with a white saltire and showed various distinctions ie; a hand and tree; a cloud, hand and sword; a damaged motto. Unusually there was no Covenant inscription. 1)

George Keith
Keith was younger brother of the Earl Marischall and served as a captain in his regiment during the First Civil War. He later led a regiment at Worcester, and succeeded his brother as Earl Marischall.
