The regiment was likely dressed in ubiquitous Scots hodden grey with blue bonnets. Reid has identified the regiment's flags under Baillie at Preston as having a blue field with a half yellow (sinister) and half white (dexter) saltire with in the centre a green wreath enclosing a red star. Companies seem to have been distinguished by the number of stars as flags with 3 and 5 were also captured. The inscription reads Couenant for Religion King and Kingdoms¹⁾
