Conventionally equipped with 1 pike for every 2 shot, in 1639 their pikemen were armoured, though there's no evidence of this during the First Civil War.

Marquis of Huntly
Lord Gordon
Lord George Gordon, first son and heir of George Gordon, 2nd Marquis of Huntly was killed at the Battle of Alford in July 1645.
Lt Col William Johnston
A professional soldier, he trained the regiment in 1639 and was de facto leader in the absence of Huntly.
