Colonel Sir Jonathan Atkins
Jonathan Atkins (c. 1610-1703) was from Henderskelf in Yorkshire. He married Mary Howard, the eldest daughter of Sir William Howard and Mary Eure of Naworth Castle, on 17 November 1642 and commanded the Castle’s garrison. After the Restoration he was appointed Governor of Guernsey then Governor of Barbados.
