Ambrose Jennings
A Birmingham-born London innkeeper prior to the war, he was in France in 1647 where he acted as second to Col. Thomas Sandys in a duel with a French officer Saint-Michel over gambling debts. The primary duellists were both wounded but the seconds both shot each other to death.1)
