Notes
Said to originally have been raised from the Welsh Royalists of Lord Herbert’s army captured at the Battle of Highnam. The regiment was practically destroyed after Roundway Down and Bristol, but it is thought that it formed the basis for Edward Cooke’s newly commissioned regiment in August.
