Earl of Stamford
Sir Edward Massey
Sir Edward Massey, originally Lieutenant-Colonel, he led the regiment at Gloucester and was eventually promoted to Colonel.
Charles Blunt
Blunt, or Blount, followed Massey as colonel, then in 1646 was commissioned to raise a regiment of foot in Gloucester for service in Ireland, Col. Charles Blount's Regiment of Foot.
