Notes
Parliamentarian foot raised by Sir Thomas Myddleton and intended to be sent by sea to join his campaign in Wales. Part at least of the Regiment were forced to put into Milford Haven and fought for a period under Laugharne. By April 1645 Beale had been made a Parliamentary Commissioner to Ulster. The Regiment possibly by now combined with the rest of Sir Thomas Myddleton’s Regiment of Foot were taken over by it's former Lt Col. John Carter. It is not known when or if the remainder of the regiment joined Myddleton. Only Beale (through his Lt Sylan Collanto) Carter and Twisleton have been firmly identified as in action in Wales and Cheshire.
Coats, Flags and Equipment
According to Myddleton's accounts the only clothing issued to the regiment were shirts and shoes with scarfs for the officers and ribbons for the men. (NA SP28/144/part 10/f186). All members of the regiment were armed with snaphance muskets and half-pikes. (NA SP28/144/part 10/f186)
