Parliamentarian foot raised by Sir Thomas Middleton and intended to be sent by sea to join his campaign in Wales. Part at least of the Regiment were forced to put into Milford Haven and fought for a period under Laugharne. By April 1645 Beale had been made a parliamentary Commissioner to Ulster. The Regiment possibly by now combined with the rest of Middleton's foot were taken over by it's former Lt Col. John Carter.

| The Regiment's original officers were Col William Beale; Lt Col John Carter; Major Richard Hall, Capt George Twisleton (later Lt-Col); Capt George Tyrringham; Capt Phillip Holditch; Capt Belton and QM Richard Jennings. (NA SP28/144/part 10/f195) |
| All members of the regiment were armed with snaphance muskets and half-pikes. (NA SP28/144/part 10/f186) |
| It is not known when or if the remainder of the regiment joined Middleton. Only Beale (through his Lt Sylan Collanto) Carter and Twisleton have been firmly identified as in action in Wales and Cheshire. |
Coats and Flags
According to Middleton's accounts the only clothing issued to the regiment were shirts and shoes with scarfs for the officers and ribbons for the men. (NA SP28/144/part 10/f186)

When raised the regiment consisted of 500 men and 56 officers in 7 companies. The detachment that linked up with Middleton through Pembrookshire was 140 strong
