Outfitting Suckling's troop was said to have cost him £12,000. Suckling's efforts were satirised in verse, On Sir John Suckling's most warlike preparations for the Scottish war. Unsure whether Suckling's troop were in fact at Newburn Ford.
Coats, Flags & Equipment
The troop apparently wore splendid scarlet coats and plumed hats in 1639.
