The Jersey Trained Bands were not included in the strength returns of 1638.
Captain Josua de Carteret and Captain Elias Dumaresq des Augres both served in the Trained Band pre-war and formed part of Royalist Sir George Carteret’s Regiment of Foot attempting to defend the island from Parliamentarian invasion in 1651.
