Notes

Bagot's regiment formed the Royalist garrison of Lichfield from 1644 and soon gained a reputation as prolific skirmishers and plunderers. Although serving at a number of major battles, they appear to have maintained part of the regiment in garrison at Lichfield throughout.

Coats and Flags

Coat colour unknown. They carried blue flags with star devices in May 16452), the flags are occasionally shown as purple in some publications.

Colonel Richard Bagot

Governor of Lichfield, he accompanied the regiment to Naseby but was seriously wounded, dying soon after Bagot family ODNB.

Colonel Harvey Bagot

Took command after his brother's death on 7 July 1645 Bagot family ODNB.
