Royalist regiment of foot based at Oxford, then Bridgenorth
Kirke was commissioned to raise 600 dragoons in 1642, but the regiment does not appear to have materialised. He led a unit of commanded musketeers to the Storm of Cirencester in 1643. Whether this included some of his regiment of foot is uncertain. The regiment formed part of the garrison of Bridgenorth in 1646, defending the Castle.
