Later Sir John Watts’ Company of Firelocks
Royalist unit of firelocks based at Chirk Castle in North Wales
Apparently raised by Lord Capel, little is heard of this company of firelocks until 1644 when they formed the garrison of Chirk Castle under Sir John Watts. In February 1646 Watts was said to have been bribed £200 to surrender Chirk to Myddleton.
