Royalist foot in garrison at Aberystwyth and Harlech Castles during the First Civil War and probably raised again in the Second Civil War
Harlech, The Castle of Lost Causes was the last mainland Royalist garrison to surrender at the end of the First Civil War, on the 16th of March 1647. By the time of the surrender the garrison consisted of 14 gentlemen and 28 common soldiers, who appear to have been the remnants of upto seven different regiments.
