Royalist regiment of foot raised in Ireland but intercepted and massacred at sea
Raised in Ireland for service with the Royalists in England, the regiment was intercepted at sea by parliamentarian Captain Swanley. Swanley commanded that the men be tied back-to-back and thrown overboard, where they all drowned.
