Notes

Cromwell’s troop were one of the ‘Old Horse’ troops of the pre-war army in Ireland. Noted in the Ulster forces in 1642 2), they were intended to support the Scots Covenanter forces in Ulster.

Likely they were at Benburb but this is not confirmed3).
