Parliamentarian firelock-armed artillery guard of the Eastern Association
Equipped with firelock muskets, they also acted as pioneers for the Eastern Association artillery train.
In the New Model Army the firelocks (or some of them) wore tawny coats, whether their previous clothing was also tawny is unknown.
A list of the regiment’s officers is shown in Laurence Spring’s Regiments of the Eastern Association1)
Thomas Hammond was Lieutenant General of the Artillery in the Eastern Association, a post which he retained in the New Model Army.
