Parliamentarian regiment of dragoons serving in Lincolnshire
Although Irby's troop served on the Edgehill campaign attached to Browne's regiment, it was always intended as a separate regiment. On the same day as Irby received his commission for his troop, one Thomas Welby was commissioned as Provost-Marshal of his regiment. (CSPD 1641-43 p. 369)
A list of the regiment’s officers is shown in Laurence Spring’s Regiments of the Eastern Association1)
Irby was MP for Boston.
