Scots regiment of foot raised for the Covenanters but defecting to Montrose
Raised as a Covenanter militia regiment to defend Perth from the Royalists, they may have been un-uniformed or dressed in the typical Scots hodden grey. Despite many claims to the contrary there is no clear evidence that they were armed with bows, and were likely equipped conventionally with pike and muskets.
